Project Outline for Flight Crew Gathering (Lead Project #2)

Executive Summary- The school has designed a program to help the incoming freshman get acquainted with the school and people that go to the school. Flight Crews were designated to a couple of upperclassmen this year. It has been a while since our last meeting. Because of this, we are holding a meeting that gives the leaders a general overview of how the Freshman class is doing social, academically, etc. This meeting will occur in one of the teacher's rooms and will include food and drinks since it is to be held during lunch. We will have a session where we ask broad questions to the students where we will provide applicable answers. The meeting will end with an open conversation and then the end of lunch.

Need-  We need to be updated on how the freshman are doing and what we can do to help them through the rest of the year. This is a critical point in their high school careers that will define how they fair through the rest of high school. It is our job to guide them through any potential rough spots. All we require is a space to hold this event. In any case, we've already received the approval of Ms. Juarez.

Objective-  The objective is to address any problems that the freshman on our Flight Crew currently have and sort them out. We also plan to give advice for further success.

Method- The most basic method is simply holding a social event for the members of our Flight Crew.  It will be held in one of the teacher's rooms. We plan to have it formatted like a small party with some food and drinks because it is held during lunch. We will all sit down and begin to ask the freshman various questions about their year so far. Some of the questions include: Are there any questions or concerns you have about the school? How are you liking it so far? Are you struggling in any classes or with any teachers? These will hopefully give us a sense of how things are going for the Freshman. At this point we would hope to give them an answer to their questions or concerns. It will also hopefully give a sense of community to the Freshman when they know that they are not alone at a new school.

Evaluation- The projects success hinges on how many people from our original Flight Crew attend the meeting and how effective the conversation was between us and them. The conversation's effectiveness is based on locating potential problems and giving advice on those problems or successes.

Qualification- We plan on using Ms. Juarez's room and the tables in it. Siva is the other person that is going to be helping me because she is the other Flight Crew leader for Pink Team. Go Pink Team! Our experience at AHS will help us give the underclassmen inside knowledge about the school. Finally, we will take attendance as people arrive to the meeting.

Timetable- Tuesday, 22nd of November. At lunch.

Budget- We plan on buying snacks and drinks for the students. Some of these may include soda, cookies, chips, etc. The cost should en up being no more than $10 or $15.

Conclusion- We're trying to achieve a school where everyone knows each other and everyone generally gets along. Also, we would like to help out the new students because we've all been there and know what it is like to be without any help. This is our chance to change things for the better at our school.
