Apparel IP #1 Reflection

Many of the previosu milestones that were palnned collapsed into one single week where the apparel was being presented to the rest of the school. When I first began this project I envisioned there being an online store with our designs on it. I had hoped that the idea would be well received by everyone. For the most part it was. We presented to everyone except for Ms. Gillman who was conspicuously absent for each date that we tried to present our ideas to her. For now we are passing our designs on to ASB where they may or may not use them on the order catalouge next year. My vision became half complete. The online student store was a hard fought battle. It didnt help that there was another gorup of students vying for the same idea in another class. Both groups were eventually shot down by Bonnie who gave us the DL on the legality of having a third party vendor collect public funds. As soon as we were sternly explain to we completely abandonded the idea of the student store and stuck to our apparel deisngs that most everybody seemed to already enjoy. Ity would have been nice to simplify the way students buy things from ASB, bt oour real goal was to incorperate more items with the AHS logo on it so we can spread pride throughout the city and farther. If the deisigns are accepted by Ms. Gillman then I considers this project a complete success because my goal was accomplished despite some bumps in the road.

I am mostly proud of our tenacity of getting our ideas through to the excutive of our school. We made sure that there was nothing that would cause the dissapproval of our basic designs. The student store would have been the "cherry on top". Im not proud of how difficult it can be to work with some of the members of ASb and the general admministration of the school. I would imagine it would be more difficuult to work with them in future on topics that are possibly more complex and controversial than school spirit wear.

Currently the clothes are being reviewed by the new ASB and may or may not be put on to the catalogue for next year's clothing sales. It was my duty to make sure that the desings reached the apporpriate avenues in order for them to become approved for students who would like to wear aviation clothes that aren;t polos. Austin was my main helper who designed the clothes as his lead project. It was nice to see the future of Aviation Spirit funneling through the channels for the eventual wear of students.
